• Hi and Welcome!

Through play and whimsical storytelling I create customized fairytale photo sessions for children. I believe that it is through play that we can glimpse the sacredness of childhood. Watching a child’s imagination come to life through photography is truly magical, and allows you to stop time for a moment to preserve this special stage in your child’s life forever. Contact me todayto chat about how we can capture this season in your child’s life and make their fantasies a reality.

I recently did this 90’s styled senior session. I love styling senior sessions as much as I love creating little fairies. This one was inspired after I saw the new location of Middle Ground Coffee in downtown Blue Springs. It’s always great to find new unique locations and this one is super fun, it just asked for a 90’s styled senior session. The decor in an awesome mix of  funky antiques with cool flea market styling, and the coffee is delicious.  Maci helped me out with this one. I think she rocked it! These images sure make me feel nostalgic. I can just imagine these in my favorite back to school issue of Seventeen Magazine circa 1996. I love that some of the 90’s looks are back. These looks are easy to find at your local Target or H&M. Some of the pieces I got at the Goodwill, just like I did when I was a teenager.

Now that back to school is upon us, if your senior hasn’t thought about senior portraits now is the time. Working with your senior and creating something special for them is one of my specialties. I style the session with their  input and make them feel special. I like to create photos that they would see on their favorite blog or magazine. I bring most of the clothes, accessories and props, so it makes it a little extra fun and special for them. All of that is included in my price! If you are interested in a senior session feel free to contact me here. I would love to set up a fun styled session for your senior.

Some little girls want to be fairies, some want to climb trees. Some want both. This little cutie said her Fairy name would be Rose, but I think Tree Frog might be better. Every time we let her climb up in to a tree she got a big smile on her face. It seemed like the higher she climbed the bigger the smile. Weather you have a tree climber, a rock climber, a dancer , a witch, a fairy or a super hero I can help capture your child’s inner self with these special let’s imagine sessions. Contact me to set up a custom photo session for your child.

Ahoy Matey! Is that pirate fairy gold I spy? This was such a fun session and Ava was super fun to photograph. I created this costume for those girls who want to show off their strong side, but still want to be pretty. Some times a girl can be a fairy and a pirate! When I created this look I was inspired by The Pirate Fairmovie by Disney. I love the idea of there being different kinds of fairies with different personalities. A fairy for every girl, not just ones who like fluffy dresses. Does your child have a unique fairytale vision? Contact me, I would love to hear about it and help make it a reality.

Even big girls want to be fairies, or forest girls, or princesses. As our kids hit the tween years sometimes they seem more adult then kids. They believe imaginary play is just a bit silly, something for babies. But yet they still like the idea of dressing up and become someone else. A fairy, a princess or a super hero. As they cross this bridge from child to teen some times it is hard to pause time and capture that imagination that is still present. My magic trick to stop time? Pretty dresses, a cape, a flower crown. When I was about 12 I dressed in a Little House on the Prairie dress and imagined myself back in time and begged my mom to just used candles instead of electricity. Those old fashioned photo places at the amusement park were the best to me. At 12 I still imagined myself as a pioneer girl, as a greek goddess and as a Egyptian queen. (Not going to lie, I still imagine myself as those things).

The tween  years are the perfect time to capture those last glimpses of childhood. To capture your child’s creativity and imagination while they will still let you. Capture your tween as a fairy or a half deer/half girl, or princess one last time before adulthood can be seen down the tunnel. I would love to help you capture this whimsical time in your child’s life. Feel free to contact me to schedule your session today.
